Streff Home
Built in 2003, the Streff home in The Boardwalk was designed for comfort and to accommodate large gatherings of family and friends. It is a 3 level, 5700 sq. ft. home with 6 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 half baths. A beautiful stone fireplace dominates the living room, and the spacious dining room has a huge table that can seat 24 and is usually set for 10. Nearby, a lovely screened-in porch overlooks the lake. Visitors will especially enjoy the home’s themed bedrooms, which include the West Point Room displaying the owner’s and family members’ military uniforms and other military memorabilia; the Wedding Dress Room featuring the beautiful gowns of multiple women in the family; the Bavarian Room, which reflects the Germanic style the couple fell in love with during one of their overseas assignments; and the Virginia Room, which features artwork depicting iconic Old Dominion landmarks and viewsheds. There’s also a California Room and a fun “Carolina Flip Flop Room.” The lower-level great room features a wet bar that the owner and his son built during Covid. Another highlight of the home is a bonus room over the garage that showcases a handmade miniature European Mountain village, complete with twinkling street lights and multiple electric trains coursing through a German Christmas market, an Oktoberfest celebration, and a Sound of Music section. The back yard has a large entertaining patio with a fire pit, and a steep concrete path leads to the dock.
