The McCarry Home

The McCarry Home in the Waterfront community is a two-story, 3,600-square-foot, 4 bedroom, 4 bath cottage that was originally built in 1980.  After the McCarry’s purchased it in 2021, they supervised a complete renovation, with upgrades designed to allow the homeowners to age in place.  From the concealed lift (an alternative to a traditional elevator) to the wheelchair-accessible sinks and showers, every aspect of senior life has been considered. Even the kitchen cabinetry was designed around those in the family affectionately referred to as “height challenged.”  The home also features a separate apartment under the detached garage for guests, which could also be used by live-in caregivers. Architectural features in the home include glass shelves incorporated into the staircase to highlight the homeowners’ art, artistic frosted glass entry doors into the Foyer and the Primary Suite, soundproof bathrooms, a built-in plant rack in the Primary Bath, and a décor theme of waterfalls repeated in the tilework and art throughout this stunning home. To gain additional square footage, a lower-level screened porch was converted into a billiards room with a view of the beautifully landscaped grounds and serene lake.
